Epicurean rock-star David Bass has taken what most would refer to as ‘street food’ and elevated it to the echelon of gourmet cuisine. His red- roofed Ver-Daddy’s Taco Shop is generating a lot of attention in the neighborhood, mainly because it is anything but a regular taco shop.
Sure, Ver-Daddy’s has all the elements of a simple diner; a handful of tables in a place that resembles a typical cafeteria on a lonesome desert road in the American Southwest. But hiding in the back of the house is a team of chefs and chefs-in-the-making, ferociously seeking perfection in their craft: refined Mexican-American food.
Guests are served ingenious dishes that are completely made from scratch; from the salsas and guacamole to the tacos and tortillas. All of the products used are hand picked every morning by David Bass himself at his favorite markets around town.
